SYM Bebidas thought of developing a new Argentine absinthe with premium characteristics and asked us to design the packaging and product branding.
Case study
SyM Bebidas, a well-established beverage distributor in Argentina, approached Bigsur with a clear goal: to create product branding and packaging for their new premium absinthe, Green Zebra. Their objective was to launch a product that would not only stand out in a competitive market but also offer a strong, modern aesthetic. Additionally, they wanted the brand to appeal to a younger audience, while still maintaining the sophistication of a premium spirit. As a result, our challenge was to design packaging that reflected the bold nature of the brand, while highlighting its premium quality. Moreover, it had to grab consumer attention and differentiate itself from competitors.
First, we focused on creating a unique identity. This began with the development of the brand’s name, concept, and positioning. Afterward, we moved on to the visual elements, which needed to balance innovation with the traditional roots of absinthe. We also had to ensure that the design would convey a modern and fresh feel while staying true to the heritage of the beverage. In addition, the packaging had to stand out on the shelf, attracting consumers immediately.
Results
The outcome was a bold and highly distinctive brand identity that breaks away from the typical imagery associated with absinthe. To begin with, we designed a modern logo using strong geometric shapes and a vibrant color palette that reflects the energy and uniqueness of Green Zebra. Then, we focused on product branding. That was a critical aspect of this project. We opted for a sleek and eye-catching bottle design, featuring hypnotic patterns that create a sense of movement and excitement. This modern design was also aimed at capturing the attention of a younger, contemporary audience. Additionally, we combined black, green, and metallic tones to elevate the premium feel of the product. As a result, the final design is not only visually striking but also highly recognizable, positioning Green Zebra as a leader in the premium absinthe market.
Furthermore, we developed a brand book that serves as a comprehensive guide for all future branding efforts. This book outlines key elements such as logo usage, typography, and color scheme. It ensures that Green Zebra’s brand identity remains consistent across all platforms, reinforcing the product’s image and helping it stand out.
Experience
In conclusion, working on the Green Zebra project was an incredibly rewarding experience. From the outset, we were given the creative freedom to explore innovative ideas and push the boundaries of traditional absinthe branding. This allowed us to develop a brand identity that not only met but exceeded the client’s expectations. In particular, the packaging design played a crucial role in differentiating Green Zebra from its competitors. Thanks to the client’s trust and collaboration, we were able to craft a brand that is both bold and innovative. Ultimately, we’re proud of the final result, as Green Zebra truly stands out as a unique and modern premium product.
