The Uruguayan rock band Los Oxford entrusted us with the design and audiovisual production of their musical theme, “Chavette,” in co-production with Lazy Bear.
Case study
First, Los Oxford approached Bigsur with the idea of creating a unique and memorable music video for their single “Chevette.” They wanted something that told an epic story, one that would resonate with viewers and elevate the song’s impact. Additionally, they wanted the video to incorporate a specific clothing brand, which added another layer of creativity.
The goal was to promote both the song and the fashion collection, seamlessly blending the two worlds. Importantly, they gave us full creative freedom, which allowed us to design the entire concept, handle the script, and manage the audiovisual production from start to finish. Our main objective was to deliver a product that exceeded their expectations while remaining true to their artistic vision.
Results
The final result was a visually stunning production that combined a powerful story with raw rock energy. Drawing inspiration from classic films such as Karate Kid, Rocky, and Kung Fu, we created characters and a storyline that captured the essence of the song. In addition, we managed to integrate the clothing brand’s aesthetic naturally into the video, aligning it with the music’s vibe.
The project involved everything from costume design, scouting, and vehicle rentals to the detailed planning of the entire audiovisual production. Ultimately, all these elements came together over two days of filming. As a result, we produced an engaging video that made an immediate impact, successfully promoting both the band and the brand creatively and innovatively.
Experience
The video clip was filmed entirely in Uruguay with a technical team of more than 20 people. So it was the biggest challenge we had at an audiovisual level and one of the most enriching since we started at the agency. Likewise, everything flowed to achieve one of the best video clips of 2014 and thus obtain the Piedra de Oro award at the Tandil Film Festival for best video clip, a pride marked by fire in our hearts.
